PP as Ahmed Qurie and Nabil Elouahabi as Hassan AsfourClarence Derwent was a London-born actor who became president of American Actors’ Equity from 1946-52. He established awards on both sides of the Atlantic for actors in supporting roles. The UK awards have been running since 1948 for the best supporting actor and actress during the 12 month period.
The awards are administered by Equity the Actors Union and are highly valued by recipients not least because they represent recognition by actors’ peers.
